在未有印刷術之前,將一份樂譜複製,要不是板刻油印,就只能由人手抄寫。直至十五世紀,威尼斯商人佩特魯奇發明了樂譜活板印刷,不但讓威尼斯成為了最大的樂譜集散地,更令宗教以外的音樂興起。

Synopsis: Before printing was invented, sheet music was either woodblock-printed or copied by hand. Until the 15th century, Ottaviano Petrucci, a Venetian printer, invented a movable type for sheet music. Not only did he turn Venice into a distribution hub for sheet music, but also lead to the rise of non-religious music.
