The Beautiful Melodies of Franz Lehár

Presented by: Hong Kong Arts Festival
Produced by: Wiener Symphoniker
Platform: HERMES Live

Synopsis: Recalling the glamorous Silver Age of waltzes and operettas, the Wiener Symphoniker celebrated the 150th anniversary of Franz Lehár’s birth with a tribute to “The Merry Widow”, “The Land of Smiles” and other memorable works of the composer.
At Theater an der Wien where these mesmerising tunes began life, the sensational and magnetic tenor Piotr Beczała headed a stellar line-up, including the phenomenal soprano Camilla Nylund and maestro conductor Manfred Honeck, the recipient of the Artist of the Year award at the 2018 International Classical Music Awards.
