Miles Davis 在組The Second Great Quintet 時，大量使用了非功能和聲去作曲，減少了工整的框架，讓個人風格更加突出。本地爵士低音大提琴手及作曲家呂奡元的作品也有類似Miles Davis的 Second Great Quintet的元素，作品《Milky Way》則是源自作曲家對星空的概念。

Synopsis: When Miles Davis formed The Second Great Quintet, he made extensive use of non-functional harmony in his compositions, reducing the need for orderly frameworks and allowing his personal style to shine through. The works of local jazz double bassist and composer Lui Ngao-yuen also share similar elements. His Milky Way was conceptualized from his experience with the starry sky.
